How to Make Money in RuneScape
How to Make Money in RuneScape
Every RuneScape player, whether new to the game or a seasoned veteran, is looking for ways to make money in the game. Typically, new players are not focused on making large amounts of money quickly, but want to learn how to make any money as they are getting started with the game. Fortunately, there are several ways to make money in RuneScape.
Not every method of making money in RuneScape is going to generate a large amount of money, but players need to learn which methods work best for their character at their current skill levels. The following are some of the most common methods for making money in RuneScape:
- Crafting – While crafting is a way to make money in RuneScape, it is typically not a way to make money quickly. This is especially true for non-paying players and those at lower levels because they are more limited in abilities. Of course, either of those two types of player can pick and spin flax, which is a good way to make money and earn crafting experience.
- Mining – Mining is one of the most popular ways to make money in RuneScape. Each type of ore has a different value, with runite being both the most rare and the most expensive. Iron ore is a great way to earn mining experience because the experience points are high and the ore spawns quickly. Of course, iron ore sells at a lower price than more rare ores, but players can earn money from it. Once players complete the Rune Mysteries Quest, even non-paying players can mine rune essences, which are easy to get and sell quickly.
- Smithing – A step beyond mining, smithing is a good way to make money. It takes time, so players need patience for smithing. Better prices come with better skills, but even non-members can make money.
- Fishing – Another one of the most popular ways to make money in RuneScape, fishing also helps players save money by not needing to purchase food. Lobsters, swordfish and sharks sell well and bring good prices.
- Thieving – Not every player likes to make money through thieving, but it is possible. Basically, players steal items and bank them. Later, they can sell those items to traders. Since there is no financial investment, sales bring in 100% profits. Of course, players can also steal food to keep from buying it.
- Arbitrage – Arbitrage is a fancy word for being a merchant. Players buy items at low prices and then sell them at a profit. Players with certain skills can also buy items, combine two to make products, and then sell those. An example of combining is to buy coal and iron to smelt into steel bars, which are then sold. Arbitrage is not necessarily a quick way to make money, so it does require some patience on the player’s part.
This is, by no means, a comprehensive guide to making money in RuneScape. This list is only a few of the many possibilities open to players. The best way to make money in RuneScape is to find the method that works for both the player and the character, and then to keep doing it.
