MMORPG Master Game Tips

Make More Money in EQ2

Make More Money in EQ2

Players in EQ2 often have an easy time learning the basic techniques for making money because of similarities to the original EverQuest. Once players begin leveling and making money, they find many items within the game that they would like to purchase. As a result, it does not take long for players to start wanting to make more money in EQ2.

The following are some tips for making more money, although not all of them will work for every player.
  • Crafting – When crafting, the primary component, or first component in the recipe, determines the maximum quality of the final product. If you are trying to achieve pristine quality, then you must use a pristine primary component. This is good to know for two reasons: 1) The first time you “discover” a recipe and make it at pristine quality, you gain about 8% in experience. That means you could level up with 13 or 14 items of pristine quality. 2) Pristine items typically sell for higher prices than items of other quality grades. That means you make more money with the pristine quality.
  • Check the brokers. Always check with the broker before simply vending an item. You may assume that an item, like a crafting book, is trash for the vendor because it is not worth much. In reality, some items are rare enough to bring a large selling price, but they do not look like anything special enough to even bring the vendor price. In addition, it is always a good idea to broker unwanted adept spells, armor and weapons with stats, shinies and harvestables. Brokering allows you to make more money from those items.
  • Player v. Player. Also known as PvP, fighting battles with other players in the PvP zones is a great way to make more money. In PvP, you have the ability to loot the characters that you defeat, including 60% of the coin they are carrying, faction tokens, and various drop items. PvP requires skill on the player’s part, and may even require you to fight with a group once you reach higher levels. Of course, killing with a small group in PvP earns less status points than you would receive by going solo.
  • Check out the guilds. There are so many guilds available in EQII that every player should be able to find one with which they mesh. More advanced players in the guild often pass on items and knowledge to lower level guild members. In addition, guilds will play as a group, making it easy for you to find a group to partner up with for grinds and more difficult quests. Guilds are good for more than just making money, but a player’s bank account can definitely benefit from having joined the right guild.

Although there are players who complain about the economy in EverQuest II, it is possible for players to make large amounts of gold. Not every tactic works for every player, so players will need to experiment with their characters, and maybe a few alts, to see which method works best to make more money in EQII.
