Guild Wars Strategies for Players
Guild Wars is one of the most popular role-playing games online. When playing the game it always helps to have a few tips and tricks to form a solid strategy to hone your skills and become a better player.
Be careful how you choose your class combinations. If you want to play the game like a pro and you happen to be a beginner or even intermediate, don't waste time with leveling up for example to a Monk/Mesmer, that's not building good skill characteristics.
One thing to remember on classes is that magic goes to magic and non-magic goes to non-magic. If you mix magic to non-magic, other players may find it a bit difficult to find out what type of skills you have. If you are ever in doubt, talk with another player who is using a game style that you want to use.
Keep the names plain and simple for the role-playing or PvP. Do not get too fancy, save that for PvE.
Always leave yourself with room to change your mind later. For example, you may love Role-playing and do not play anything else, but maybe in the future you would like PvE, so just to keep your options open, save a slot for PvE.
Never use all of your skill points, even if you want to unlock everything in the game all at once. It is better to quest as much as possible for skills and save your skill points for all the abilities you cannot get as rewards.
Do not spend your money needlessly when it comes to sets, like buying dye for armor. Make sure you are going to keep the set for a long time first before you do that. Try to save as much money as possible for the end game. Also, salvage everything as you go. You may not need something right now, but, later in the game, you may need piles of it. For example, salvage as much cloth as you can even if you do not need it right now you might want to use it for armor later in the game. Remember, save as much gold as you can and that includes resisting the temptation to buy from every player you see, and shop around first. Also, do not sell everything right away like modifiers. Just because you do not need them right now does not mean you will not need them further in the game.
When it comes to inventory use the smallest pack animal, you can find, like a mule. This way you will not be bogged down with a lot of stuff early in the game. If you accumulate a lot of stuff you need you can always use the storage system.
The final strategy is to be alert and stay on your toes when playing. Eating while playing is one thing, but do not let outside interferences make you lose your focus. If you are sleepy, call it a night and get some rest. Remember, you are in a guild; there are other people that are counting on you.
