Star Wars Galaxies Strategies for Players

Star Wars Galaxies Strategies for Players

In a land far, far away comes Star Wars Galaxies or SWG for short. Star Wars addicts, fans love being part of one of the largest role-playing game of its kind.

These tips and tricks will prove helpful to the young Padawan or the seasoned Jedi.
  • If you click and hold on a target, a radial menu will show up. Wait for the menu to stop animation before choosing your option.
  • Space is a very, very dark place. Make sure to use your personal light source by pressing Control and L.
  • You need to collect at least 200 Faction points before joining either the Rebels or the Imperials. The only way to get Faction points is to use Faction based terminals. You need to do Faction specific missions to get Faction points. You will also get credits you can use to make purchases.
  • If you ever forget where you parked your ship, here is a tip. Go to the Datapad and choose the examine option from the radial menu. This will show you where your ship is.
  • Sometimes little dots with circles, in different colors, will appear on your radar screen while you are on a planet. Those dots are telling you there is either a mob or another player in the vicinity. The circle stands for what level the other unit is on. A yellow dot is a non-aggressive; a red dot is an aggressive and blue is for other players. If you see a red dot with a purple circle, do not stand, do not walk, run away from it.
  • When you find yourself overwhelmed you should use the booster function. Doing this will allow your ship to go into high speed, so as to get you out of a rough or dangerous situation quickly.
  •  When you are having trouble fighting monsters in melee range, you should use a snare and a ranged weapon.
  • Use the buddy system when doing quests. It always helps to have someone with you in the event the quest turns out to be more difficult than you thought.
  • If you need help shooting while you are moving, you can always use the walk key. This makes you move slower so you can shoot but you are also going to make a great target so use this function quickly.
  • Always gage your opponent to prevent yourself from being dinner. Look for the little starburst icon when checking out a mob. Here is the color-coding:
    • Green – Far below your skill level no problem defeating them.
    • Blue – be careful of these kinds. They are just under you level of skills. You are going to have a battle on your hands but you will still win. However, if you have a group of blues, they could possibly defeat you.
    • White – same level as you are. Do not auto attack, instead rely on posturing your weapons range and consider a few special moves.
    • Yellow means slightly above your skill level. Avoid these battles unless you have superior moves and tactics or maybe some friends nearby.
    • Red – they will give you a deathblow the second they see you. Only do battle with these if you are part of an experienced group.
